Ferromagnetic Ni Nanoparticle with Controlled Anisotropy: From Polyhedral to Planar Tetrapods

چکیده

Liquid phase syntheses mainly yield nanoparticles with compact shapes, such as spheres or cubes. However, controlling not only the size but also shape of magnetic would enable a fine-tuning their intrinsic properties, due to anisotropy induced by long-range dipolar interactions. We report here fairly simple approach based on reduction an amidinate complex in presence mixture long-chains acid and amine ferromagnetic Ni nanoparticles. The formation stable complexes could be promoted situ increasing concentration, thus allowing tuning final particle size. While used soft reducing agent, dihydrogen was essential promote anisotropic shapes. Electron holography combined micromagnetic simulations showed that resulting impose configurations within planar tetrapods. Regarding heating efficiency, which directly scales hysteresis loop area, maxima 100W·g–1 were found for nanoplates nanorods, opening promising perspectives magnetically catalysis.

Nanoparticle-controlled aggregation of colloidal tetrapods.

Tetrapods are among the most promising building blocks for nanoscale self-assembly, offering various desirable features. Whereas these particles can be fabricated with remarkable precision, comparatively less is known about their aggregation behavior. Employing a novel, powerful simulation method, we demonstrate that charged nanoparticles offer considerable control over the assembly of tip-func...

Magnetisation switching in a ferromagnetic Heisenberg nanoparticle with uniaxial anisotropy: A Monte Carlo investigation

We investigate the thermal activated magnetisation reversal in a single ferromagnetic nanoparticle with uniaxial anisotropy using Monte Carlo simulations. The aim of this work is to reproduce the reversal magnetisation by uniform rotation at very low temperature in the high energy barrier hypothesis, that is to realize the Néel-Brown model. For this purpose we have considered a simple cubic nan...

Magnetocrystalline Anisotropy in a Single Crystal Fe–Ni–Ga Ferromagnetic Shape Memory Alloy*

In order to discuss the advent of the magnetic-field-induced strains for a single crystal Fe22:0Ni51:5Ga26:5 shape memory alloy, the magnetic easy axis in the 14M martensite phase and the magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant K have been investigated. From the data on the spontaneous thermal expansion and the magnetization curves, the magnetic easy axis of the 14M martensite phase was determin...

Removal of Methyl Orange from Aqueous Solutions by Ferromagnetic Fe/Ni Nanoparticles

Herein, the removal of methyl orange (MO), a monoazo dye, from aqueous solutions was investigated using bimetallic ferromagnetic Fe/Ni nanoparticles (NPs) with the average particle size of 12-16 nm. The effect of contact time, pH, temperature, and Fe/Ni dosage on dye removal process was investigated. The results showed that 60 mg of Fe/Ni NPs at 25 oC and pH= 1 can remove 99.5% of 50 mg/L dye s...
